Dance Week#11 - Finale

It's the last umbrella event to end the whole Dance Week.

Our Dance camp!

From the unfamiliar to familiar,

these campers stayed for a 3D2N program.

During these three days, we played exciting bonding games,

Learned the mass dance!

Attended workshops conducted by Xue Hui, Allegra, Marcus and Jeremy!

And also played one of the highlights that all campers are waiting for.... RUNNING MAN!!!

Then, we have a mini showcase for all groups to perform what they have learned during the camp.
This strengthened the bonds of individual groups as they brainstormed their ideas.

Congratulations to Orange group for winning the showcase!!!

And also to Purple group for winning the "lucky" prize!!

Last before packing up and head home, we had the WATERBOMB game!!

The three days was indeed fun and exciting!!

WAIT!!!

Before I pen down a full stop.
We have to thank all those people who make this event a successful one!!

Dance Week#09 - A series of choreography (Part 2)

Part II of our Dance Week workshops!!

Other than Hip Hop,
our workshops introduced three other genres:
Locking
House
L.A Hip Hop

So apart from what we do best, our choreographers shared what they like!

We have our Public Relations Manager, Jayden Chia to teach Locking.

"It was a very nice experience to conduct a dance sharing session
outside of DWZ as well as along with my dance friends outside.
I always like to share what I love about dance and the knowledge to more people so that more people can embrace the art and participate in it.

I didn't thought that i would have gotten quite a well responded class

So i would like to thank those people that attend my class.

Although the class is very basic, I hope all the people that attend the

class brought something back with them, be it locking/music/passion for dance.

I kind of like the idea where dance club is able to conduct dance week in SIM

If possible, I hope it can be held in a annually basis"
- Jayden Chia

Then, it was House by Justin Peng

"Thanks everyone for coming to my workshop and for giving me this opportunity to share this dance to everyone.
Although it was very tiring and was a totally new genre for the club, you guys really put in the effort to learn it and I hope that you all will keep on dancing, not only house but other dance as well..

Feel the passion, learn the culture and just keep on dancing"
- Justin Peng

Lastly, we have L.A. Hip Hop by Lim Qi Yong

"I believe this dance week has been a fruitful one for all of us.

First of all I want to thank everyone who came to my workshop. I hope everyone took something out of it because I definitely took a whole lot out of this. To witness everyone put in so much effort within the short duration of the workshop was really a huge source of motivation for me.

I want to thank the other choreographers too. For sharing with us their knowledge and passion for dance. It was really inspiring to see how passionate they were towards this one thing we all love, which is dance.

I'm really grateful to be given this chance to play a part in this whole event. As cliche as it may sound, I shall end off with this: 'Dance to express, not to impress.'
"
-Lim Qi Yong

Next up, we have our Dance Battle.....

Dance Week#08 - A series of choreography (Part 1)

DWZ Dance Week'12 has ended few weeks back.
Were you part of it??
The 7-day event kicked off with DWZ in-house 5 choreographers' sharing session.

Hip hop
Locking
House
L.A. Hip Hop

Our awesome choreographers has did a great job in broadening the knowledge of these genres to those that came down!
It was indeed a series of joy and fun!

First to start off was our Dance Captain, James Wilson Limmade

" A big thank you to all those who attended my first ever workshop!
I really appreciate all the support received from everyone.

I might not be very inspirational but I hope during that short period of time I had,
I was able to share and grow the passion in dance among all of you.
Happy dancing and spread the loveeeee!!"
- James Wilson Limmade

Followed by our Vice-President, Windy Alexander

"I'm very thankful to be given the opportunity to participate,
to teach, and to be one of the leaders on this dance week.

At first I really didn't expect the response was going to be that huge.
People who attended the workshops & the camp are all very enthusiastic.
Their hunger for dance knowledge is unexplainable.
Especially when some of them have no dance background at all.
I really enjoyed teaching them.

I believe events like this are very good to raise awareness of our club.
And I hope we'll have more of this kind of events in the future!"
- Windy Alexander

Hope all who came for the workshops have enjoyed the sessions!!
and also did learn something from it!!

NOPE, it's not the end yet....
