After 8 lessons of jumping, bouncing and stepping.. hope you guys have enjoyed urselves. Special Thanks to Daniel and Fredy for taking time out for the classes. It have been a pleasure for DWZ to organise the hip hop class for you guys! Seeing those who started out without any concept of hio hop to who they are today.. how they groove now.. its such satisfactory for DWZ!! Dancing is not about steps, choreos or timing.. it abt enjoying the company.. the music..
Hope you guys have had great memories with us juz like we have had with you..
Your dance journey does not stops here.. in fact its juz the beginning!

Beginner Grad Nite (Dec08)

To all beloved Beginners class dancers!

Finally, the day has come for your last lesson for this beginner Hip Hop course that you have signed up for 3 months ago. So, this week, 18th Dec, will be your last lesson! Sob sob…

Reminder that last lesson will be in school, starting at 5pm and 6.30 respectively. Freddy will be coming down. We will be taking pictures for keepsakes as well as for blog and notice board, so if you want, just wear a bit nicer to class that day k?

There will be a mini party for you so if you are not coming, please assign a friend to collect your cert for you k? For those that are interested to join the next season of DWZ Beginner Class, which will start in late January, please let me know on Thursday so I can do my planning. I have received a lot of enquiries regarding next season so if you let me know early if you are interested, I can reserve a place for you when the course start next year.

On the other hand, for those that are interested to join DWZ Advance Team, which dancers are trained for performances and competition, there’ll be a dance audition next year, most probably mid January. So, if you are keen to join us, let me know too on your last lesson.

I attended some of the Beginner Class with you guys so I know that some of you have the potential and some really have the commitment and passion. So just sign up with me? I promise the audition won’t be too tough.

Hi all Beginners,
Like mentioned in your last lesson, the venue for this week’s practice will NOT be in school at SIM!!

For this week, 4/12, we will be using a dance studio that is quite near to O school (for those that have forgotten about O school, it’s the place you reported to on your very first lesson!). It’s Block number 75, Level 1, located along Bencoolen Street, just beside the Bencoolen Hotel. If you are walking from Douby Ghaut Mrt station, you should walk towards Rendezvous Hotel, followed by Kopitiam, and you should be able to see the red building/shop house. PS: it’s not at O school.

This dance studio that we’ll be using is not officially a part of O school yet, so no point going around asking for direction. Also, since it’s not official yet, it means, somehow, we are using the place unofficially. You know, like illegal? Haha…

So, for those that are still not so sure how to go, I have a plan for you. For the 1st class (5pm to 6.30pm), let’s meet at 4.30pm at douby Ghaut interchange, at the exit where there is 7-11 and you can see Plaza Singapura. For second class (6.30pm to 8pm), let’s meet at 6pm at the same exit. We will only wait for 5 minutes before walking to the studio. If you are late, you would have to go there on your own then.

Regarding the rest of the lessons. Since we have all agreed on that we dun wanna dance on Christmas, I have decided to extend each lesson to 1.5hours for both classes, which means that you are left with 3 sessions with Daniel only (4/12, 11/12, and 18/12). The rest of the lessons will be in school except for this week. Your last lesson will be on 18th Dec for both classes.

*For those that have ordered Danzation Tickets and/or Recital Tickets, I need you to bring your money this week! I need to pay Daniel by this week so as to reserve the tickets for everyone!

Hi everyone! Please be reminded that there will be dance class for you this Thursday (27/11) in school, at Level 4, at 5pm and 6.30pm respectively. This week will be your 3rd lesson with Daniel. Do come in comfortable wear, as well as sneakers or sport shoes.

Please take note that this week’s lesson will be 1.5 hours, meaning from 5pm to 6.30pm for 1st class and 6.30pm to 8pm for 2nd class. This is part of the measure to make sure we dun have to dance on Christmas.

For those that have ordered either Danzation ticket or Recital tickets or both, please bring $15 this lesson and I will collect from you after class. That’s all I’ve gotta say for now.

Hi all,

hope you guys have a great time last lesson!
Just like to remind you that your next training is this Thursday (20/11) in school Level 4, at 5pm or 6.30pm respectively. Try not to be late because you'll be missing the first part of the class, as well as interrupting the class. And now that Daniel is back, try not to miss anymore lessons because it's at your own loss only.

You are welcome to come 30 minutes before your class to run-through those steps that were taught in the previous class with your fellow dance mate or members from the advance team. Please wear sneakers or sport shoes to class, and not just other covered shoes. Make it a habit to mark attendance for yourself before the start of the class each time.


**i am gathering Tickets order for Daniel regarding a dance concert put up by O school. It's called Recital, and will be held on 8th Dec, at Sp Convention Hall, at 7.30pm. You will be able to watch performances put up by instructors from O school (including Daniel and Ryan) and the students from O school. i have watched it last year and think it's a highly-recommend concert that all of us should watch. Moreover, this year performance should be better than last year! Each Ticket is $15 for early bird sale, and $20 if buy at door.

PS: Please do not mix up Recital with Danzation k?

So this Thurs, please mark you attendance, and before you leave, let me know how many tickets you want for Recital and whether you want the last lesson to be on Tues or Weds during Christmas week.

Hi to all DREAMWERKZ Beginner Dancers!

Sorry to inform you at this last minute about changes regarding your Beginner dance class starting this Thursday, 16th Oct. The school foyer that was initially planned for our first lesson is going to be use by the school for some graduation ceremony and exam purpose. Hence, we will have to change to a new venue, that is, at O school itself for your first lesson only.

If you are going by train, you can always alight either at Douby Ghaut Station or City Hall station. Both take around 10 minutes of walking distance.

From Douby Ghaut Station, you will walk towards THE CATHAY and continue walking until you see SMU on your right, followed by Singapore Art Museum.

Other wise, from City Hall station, you will walk into Raffles Shopping Center and exit to the taxi stand. You will walk towards Carlton Hotel, and then walk pass SMU, before reaching the NTUC Trade Union.

As for your 1st Lesson, which is on the 16th Oct, please take note of these points:

• Report to: O school, at Bras Basah Road. Not in school anymore!!
  
• For the 5pm to 6pm slot, please report 30 minutes before your class, which is at 4.30pm at O school, to complete your registration. Your Class will start at 5pm sharp.
  
• For the 6.30pm to 7.30pm slot, I am sorry but I need you to report at 5.30pm instead for your registration. Your class will start at 6pm though. This will only be the case for your first lesson only. For your subsequent lessons, your class will start at 6.30pm as usual.
  
• For those that cannot reach at your respective reporting time for registration, please email us your name and reason, with the subject “will be late” so we can make arrangement for you to stay back after your class to do your registration.
  
• BUT for those that cannot attend your lesson at all due to this changes in venue and time (especially members from the 6.30pm to 7.30pm slot), we would refund you $9 this time round. Please email us with the subject “Not able to turn up for 1st lesson”.
  
• For Payment, please bring the exact amount in cash so we can collect more efficiently. (Receipt will be given on your 2nd lesson)
  
• Attire: Comfortable top (eg, t-shirt or tank top) and long pants and a pair of sneakers or sport shoes. No revealing tops, No shorts, NO tight jeans and NO slippers.
  
• DREAMWERKZ does not tolerate any LATECOMERS for every lesson unless with valid reason.

Hi to all DREAMWERKZ Beginner Dancers!
Once again, thank you for signing up the 8-weeks beginner course and be part of the DREAMWERKZ family! Due to the booking of rooms and to match-up with Daniel’s tight schedule, I have no choice but to delay the Beginner Class till next Thursday, 16th Oct 2008. This is the confirmed date that we are starting, no more changes to it. I sincerely apologize about changing the starting date again, causing unnecessary confusion and inconvenience to all.

BELOW IS THE CONFIRMED INFORMATION REGARDING BEGINNER COURSE:

· Event: 8-weeks Beginner Hip Hop Course

AUDITIONS 2008!!

Hi to all!DREAMWERKZ would like to thank you for taking up this challenge of dance audition. It's not easy to take up this step, but we are glad you did! Below are the confirmed information that i need to bring your attention to:

Audition Details
Date: 27th Sept 2008 (Saturday)
Time: 12pm sharp
Venue: Ulu Pandan Campus (dance studio) Attire: Comfortable attire that is danceable.

Criteria:
1. Able to commit in the training of Advance Team
2. Good attitude and passion for dance
3. To have dance background will be an advantage

This audition is to select dancers to join the advance team of DREAMWERKZ, where we are trained for performances and competitions. It is basically divided into 2 parts, a short interview and a dance. The one-to-one interview will be done with one of the committee members of DREAMWERKZ to let us know a bit more about you.

The dance will be a short choreo, taught by our instructor, Ryan (from O school). He will teach you a short dance routine on the spot and you will try to learn as much as you can. you will then be break into small group and showcase the dance you just learn, perhaps with some freestyle in the end. this is the tentative plan so expect changes on the day itself.You will be dismiss once the audition is over.

Selection will be based mainly by the instructor's judgement. Selected dancers will then be notify by email or phone calls within the next week or so.

**IMPORTANT: Please reply back to this email before 26th Sept, 11.59pm, to confirm that you will be coming down this Saturday for this auditon so i can make the necessary arrangement.

Eg. "Yes, i will be coming down at 12 pm for this audition. (your name)"

PS: If you happen to have friends that can dance well or interested (must be SIM students), please let them know about this audition too! They can simply email their particulars to me or walk-in with you for the audition before 12pm to register on the spot!

If you see urself inside.. take note of the mistakes like where you always forget. If you alr know the steps well enough can add in more groove.. look around see who is doing it well and can try to follow or even mimic the move.. thats how we learn!! You may be good in memorizing steps but not so good with following beats or grooving.. or maybe be very good with groove but juz cant get the steps right.. ask around.. learn from ur frenz.. let us improve together! =D

Firstly I would like to extend my upmost gratitude to you, for being part of us, Dreamwerkz since your participation in Hip Hop 1 class. Hip Hop 2 would only commence if we are able to gather more than 30 students.

Following are the basic information should the class commence:
Event: HIP HOP 2 (8 weeks course)
Venue: SIM HQ / Ulu Pandan (SIM new Building, opening hopefully in July)
Instructor: Daniel from OSchool
Training : Tentatively on every Thursdays, either 5.30pm OR 7pm
Duration : 1 Hour
Estimated Cost: $70 for 8 weeks course
Pls note: An additional of $10 for new members
